A day at E.ON Business Services Cluj

Bianca Ramona Negrea

With its friendly and multicultural environment, E.ON Business Services is not only a place of work, but a place where you can grow, both on a professional and personal level.

Bianca Negrea, Accounts Payable Analyst/Internal trainer

Working from home, as more than ten months have passed since the World Health Organization declared COVID-19 a pandemic, is an option that not all can benefit from. So, I feel those of us who can, will put to good use the experience gained from adapting to a digital working environment, even after COVID-19. Millions of people in the world have lived through lockdowns, some have lost jobs, schools have closed, parents balanced work and educating their children etc. But as we all do our best, we stay optimistic that these complicated times shall pass.

The work conditions might be different, but I know I can still count on my colleagues even if we are working from home. With Skype, Microsoft Teams or Zoom, we keep in touch not only for our daily tasks, but also for the much-needed human connection in a difficult time.

A day at E.ON Business Services Cluj starts with a big cup of coffee. My day at work starts most of the time at 7 AM, and sometimes at 9 AM. So I have the option of a flexible schedule. Working in the Accounts Payable department offers me the chance to plan my day ahead, even if we get our “surprises” too.  Check the meetings calendar and let’s go! Invoices, reports, meetings or trainings, all usual in a day’s work.

Like many others at E.ON Business Services Cluj, I have the advantage to work in a great team and a great environment. We might not all know each other, but the people working together here end up staying connected. A great direct manager is also important; feeling like you can address anything, anytime, is essential and I’m lucky I have that comfort here.

Working on the Swedish department gives me the opportunity to have Fika, whether physically at work or via video from home. “Fika is much more than having a coffee. It is a social phenomenon, a legitimate reason to set aside a moment for quality time. Fika can happen at any time, morning as well as evening. It can be savored at home, at work or in a café. It can be with colleagues, family, friends, or someone you are trying to get to know. ” Curious, find more about it here.

At E.ON Business Services Cluj I feel like I can grow professionally and so can you, no matter the department you are in. The honest approach you get to have with your manager and colleagues helps you achieve your professional ambitions. As a last note… you might not even speak Romanian, but you are welcome to join us and we’ll help you practice. And for those of you working in the frontline, I say: Thank you!

Have a great day and may we enjoy Fika together!
